This student led production of Much Ado About Nothing was inspired by early 2000s pop punk music. Director Tim Koh was interested in exploring the story through the organizing principles of young love and familial relationships. As to young love, we wanted to explore how the language Shakespeare employs to young love might seem similar or different in a modern context. Music became a huge part of our research process and the creative team utilized a Spotify playlist featuring music from bands like blink-182, The All American Rejects, Green Day and My Chemical Romance to influence our designs.
